Jim will discuss the impact of the 2017 insurance policy tax changes, corporate planning, policy transfers and where insurance solutions add value in estate planning.
Jim graduated with a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy, and Bachelors of Laws degree from the University of Windsor.
Jim is called to the bar in Ontario and New York State.
Jim holds the following financial services designations: CLU, CFP, ChFC, FLMI, TEP.
Jim Bird has more than 20 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, including sales, marketing, training and tax & estate planning roles.
His focus has been to build high value relationships with financial advisors and aid them in constructing risk management and estate planning solutions for their respective clients.
His expertise is in working with business families to ensure sustainable inter generational business and family wealth transfer.
Jim was born and raised in the Hamilton area. He resides there today with his wife and two daughters age 15 and 18 (both of whom tell him they have no desire to be a lawyer).
